Hypnotherapy & NLP

Hypnotherapy is a therapy which combines hypnosis with suggestions to alter a person’s experience of an event, a thought pattern, habit or perception.

Often our thought patterns and behaviours are anchored in learned responses throughout our lives. These responses and patterns of behaviour can sometimes become problematic later on in life and using NLP and Hypnotherapy can be a way to explore these, bring awareness to unnecessary or unwanted thoughts and behaviours and desensitise these whilst simultaneously re-programming new, more helpful thoughts and beliefs.

Our initial session is booked as a consultation in which it is essential that I gather as much information about you and whatever the presenting issue may be. This is key so that I am able to make any treatment plan that follows really specific to you with the maximum opportunity for a successful outcome of treatment.

If you are considering Hypnotherapy, it may be helpful if you take a little time prior to our consultation to think about anything that may be relevant so that we can ensure this is covered during our session.

In subsequent sessions, my proposed treatment plan will be discussed and if agreed, clients will be taken into hypnosis which is a deeply relaxed state where the mind can be more open to suggestion. During sessions, clients will be aware of everything that is being said and do not become unconscious or open to any involuntary actions.

In between sessions, I may ask that clients keep a record of progress, a diary, monitor certain behaviours or start to gently bring awareness to certain thoughts or implement new habits.

I ask that all clients considering Hypnotherapy come with a willingness to enter into this partnership and to do their very best to complete any additional work set between sessions. In this way, we can optimise the likelihood that the best possible outcome of treatment may be achieved.

I am with my clients every step of the way and if required, I can offer telephone/email support between sessions if needed.
